The project is located within a gated community and responds to the brief for a single-family house with a strong relationship to the garden, prioritizing openness, natural light, and spatial simplicity. From its inception, the house is organized around a clear north-facing orientation, where the main living spaces are placed in order to maximize sunlight and strengthen the continuity between interior and exterior. At the rear of the plot, the ground floor accommodates the daytime areas—living room, dining room, and kitchen—conceived as open spaces with direct visual and physical connections to the garden. On the upper floor, along this same frontage, the bedrooms are arranged to maintain this relationship with the exterior and benefit from consistent natural light throughout the day. On the opposite frontage, the music room assumes a particular prominence. Conceived as a singular space within the house and specifically requested by the client, it establishes a counterpoint within the overall spatial organization and expresses a distinct presence toward the exterior. Above this volume, the upper floor houses a study, defined by a long horizontal window that spans the width of the house, reinforcing both daylight penetration and visual continuity. The proposal is based on an architecture of simple spaces and noble materials, in which natural light plays a central role. Materiality is expressed in a direct and honest manner, with exposed surfaces and textures: concrete and wood dominate the interior spaces, while metal detailing is introduced on the exterior as a complementary element. The use of exposed concrete, treated through pressure washing and timber formwork that leaves its imprint on the surfaces, reinforces the project’s austere and sincere character. The result is a contemporary, luminous, and essential dwelling, where architecture supports everyday life while giving space to the homeowner’s personal passions.
